Currently we have to either use schtasks or GP Preferences (how we do it) to manage how often and when the syncs take place. It would be great if this was more integrated into the company settings center (shown to the user) and configurable using GPO.13 votes
currently if you sync an application (e.g. Outlook - Signatures) and you have the application open on two devices. change something on both devices. close both applications. the problem we have now is that one application is not up to date. the sync doesn't sync in both direction when closing the app (or opening) i still thinks it's up to date. But if you change something again it catches up. I guess this could be more or less easily fixed by syncing back to the device even if there are changes which need to be synched back to the store.24 votes
In the company settings center, allow users to reset the state of any application. E.g. sync uncustomized/empty settings.
So when an application isn't working well, the user is enabled to reset settings for a specific application. So settings are synced which contain no customization or those which are approved by IT.10 votes
Currently users can disable some of the application settings configured via the template path. I would like the option to lockdown all the settings so these cannot be disabled seeing the GPO list is not really extensive.5 votes
Currently the generator only supports a single application, I would like to suggest a similar approach as how the APP-V Sequencer works is implemented for UE-V. This so you can grab settings for a package of products (example putty with all tools, Adobe Suite). Including the option to store these settings on a per application basis, this would lessen the amount of XML files. The restoration of the settings should also recognize this.2 votes
We have a thousands of users with roaming profiles.
We want to replace the roaming profiles by UE-V but we would like to do it gradually.
We need an ability to indicate to UE-V agent installed on the computer to sync user's settings which logging to computer, only if he don't have roaming profile defined in Active Directory in order to prevent a mess with user's settings.13 votes
Allow the roaming of mapped drives using UEV59 votes
Thanks for your idea, we’ll consider this for the next UE-V release.
Currently UE-V doesn't support paths that partly share the same path as offline files.
As companies often work with both folder redirection and UE-V at the same time and like to have all user data at the same spot, this needs to be supported.15 votes
Have the ability to support the application (.exe) follow the user including the application settings.
UE-V is great at defining the application's settings follow the user, it would also be great for the application (.exe) and supporting binary files to follow the user as well.1 vote
UE-V was introduced to be a replacement for roaming Profile, but still misses a lot of things like modern Desktop and other stuff used in Enterprise Environments.190 votes
Thanks for your feedback on this. We are still in the process of roadmapping the product and will include this in our backlog of settings we need to cover.
Add a right click "sync button" to UE-V tray icon for quick syncing, rather than having to open the UE-V interface28 votes
A great UI idea, we’ll put it into our backlog as it certainly makes sense.
